Of Whales and Space Needles

Heather and I loved our roadie up the Oregon coast. The scenery was fantastic and we loved cruising in the convertible Mustang for 5 days. Perfect weather for nearly the entire trip. Depoe Bay was our favorite stop. We had a blast on a 2 hour whale watching tour. No humpbacks, but we got to see a pair of gray whales up close and personal. After looking for them for 20 minutes or so, one surfaced suddenly directly behind our little boat. Amazing to see these gigantic creatures from only 30-40 feet away.

Our trip rounded out with a stop in Seattle. It was the first time either of us had seen that city. Amazing place. Heather took a ridiculously great picture of the Space Needle from the car as we drove by it. Could not have turned out better. I ran it through some filters in PS and added the text at the bottom so we could hang it on Torrey's wall. Her room has a world-travel theme to it, so it works well.

Heather was a nervous wreck on the elevator trip to the top. The tour guide in the elevator had his back to the glass doors explaining the history of the Needle on the way up. I thought my wife was going to pass out. The views were amazing and the city was wonderful. It's too bad we had such a short time there, but it was a blast nonetheless.
